However, despite having acknowledged in a statement that results “must improve”, the Blues revealed that there were no plans to relieve the 52-year-old of his duties. However, the club manager remains confident that his squad has the quality and a little bit of confidence boost will help to turn their season around.

Premier League champions Chelsea have given their full backing to under-fire manager Jose Mourinho following the team’s torrid start to the season.

According to the Metro, Mourinho is facing a ban for misconduct from the Football Association for openly criticizing the officiating of Chelsea’s 3-1 home loss to Southampton this past weekend.

“I am not running away from my responsibilities or my team”.

Mourinho has until Tuesday to respond to the charges and could face a ban or fine if he’s found guilty.

The world-famous Portuguese coach said, “The referees are afraid to give decisions for Chelsea”.

Jose Mourinho has received the support of the Chelsea top brass.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is understood to have remained at Stamford Bridge until around midnight after the 3-1 defeat by Southampton as the club conducted an urgent inquest and examined their options.

“It is a crucial moment in the history of this club because if they sack me they sack the best manager this club has ever had” he said.

‘I define this as the worst period in my career, ‘ he said on Friday.

“Ask the players. If they tell you they don’t trust me, it is the only thing that can make me resign – the only thing”, Mourinho said. “The penalty was a giant penalty and after that the team lost even more confidence”.
