Real Madrid coach Rafa Benitez reiterated that he is very happy with his three goalkeepers despite continued speculation linking Manchester United’s David De Gea with the Spanish giants.
Earlier this week Montse told La Region: “We tidy up his messes“.
You sensed the Chelsea boss just wanted to get the Arsene Wenger money thing – his view that the Arsenal chief spends more than people think – off his chest. “There are only a few world-class clubs out there”.
“The lady is a bit confused”, Mourinho said, quoted by several national newspapers.
‘The only club where her husband replaces me was at Inter Milan, where in six months he destroyed the best team in Europe at the time.
“Benítez’ wife should pay more attention to the diet of her husband before talking about me”.
Benitez hasn’t been on the receiving end of a Mourinho burn for quite some time, so he probably is now wishing his wife didn’t open this particular can of worms. The Spaniard’s controversial strike saw Liverpool eliminate Chelsea at the Champions League semi-final stage.
Mourinho and Benitez have engaged in public spats dating back to their rivalry during the pair’s initial stint in England, when Chelsea and Liverpool had several notable clashes, including the controversial 2004-05 Champions League semifinal.
Mourinho had the better in the Premier League, wining the the title in 2005 and 2006.
Benitez was satisfied with his team’s performance against AC Milan, which completed the club’s preseason tour in Australia and China.
“Milan had been here for seven day and logically they had a better rhythm than us”, Benitez said.
“I’m delighted with all of them but it’s true we have to make decisions”. Even if Chelsea and Inter did falter after Mourinho left, could the blame really be placed at his door for their struggles after the fact?
