Chelsea manager Mourinho compares Pedro to Maradona after scoring debut
The former Barcelona forward starred on his Blues debut with a goal in Sunday’s 3-2 win at West Brom to help Jose Mourinho’s side to record their first win of the campaign.

Pedro scored on his debut and was named man of the match in an impressive display for the Blues.
West Brom made the most of the man advantage when Morrison again netted with a fine header from a McClean cross for 3-2.
Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois saved James Morrison’s 14th-minute penalty before Pedro scored the opener in the 20th, trading passes with Eden Hazard and sending in a shot that deflected inside the near post.
West Brom defeated Chelsea 3-0 at home last season; the joint-heaviest defeat Mourinho has ever suffered in the Premier League.
Mourinho appeared to be unhappy with the dismissal of his skipper for a foul on Salomon Rondon nine minutes into the second half at The Hawthorns a week after he was substituted at Manchester City. Some things you can see and some things we can see.
That’s not going to happen this time, well I hope not.
Pedro has only ever played for Barcelona since graduating from their academy but Azpilicueta doesn’t feel like he needs any wise words about adapting to Premier League football.
Neither team here set the world alight today as they played out a scoreless draw, but perhaps the talking point to take from it is Southampton’s start to the season being rather mediocre.
“I knew straight away the mentality of this guy is fantastic and I’m very happy for him“.
“There’s a crisis at every Premier League team”, he said.
“We have one point from two matches”, Mourinho told media.
But the Portuguese insisted that does not necessarily mean any players will be leaving prior to the September 1 closure of the transfer window.
“Everybody should be talking about the game and this wouldn’t be an issue or a problem”.

A lively Pedro continued from where he left off in the first half, meanwhile, picking out Costa with a fine cross which his compatriot could only volley wide of goal.
