But Musa surprised the waiting throng of media representatives when he announced that Obi was now the captain.

At least three Chinese Super League teams are interested in Mikel’s services and he could leave the Blues, despite featuring regularly during Guus Hiddink’s spell in charge.

Mikel made his Nigeria debut 10 years ago described Musa as a “wonderful professional”.

“The focus is to beat Egypt to boost our chances of qualifying for the Nations Cup in Gabon”.

The CSKA Moscow striker explained that there has been a mix-up when he became the Nigeria new captain under former coach Sunday Oliseh and that he considers Mikel as his brother.

He appealed to Nigerians to come all out to support the senior national team in the quest to defeat the Pharaohs of Egypt today in Kaduna. “It will be a new Super Eagles with a new approach”.
