Chelsea must pay attention in every moment of every game – Conte

The 29-year-old started Chelsea’s EFL Cup win over Bristol Rovers last month, and is expected to be in goal when they take on Leicester City in the third round of the competition this evening.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have already also beaten Arsenal and Premier League champions Leicester, plus taken a point at Tottenham, with their only defeat coming at newly-promoted Burnley. My answer was: ‘Are you crazy?’ I remember it.

This was manager Antonio Conte’s first defeat as Chelsea manager. First half we didn’t have the duels, we didn’t have the second ball, everything was for them. We don’t feel the danger, never.

“I told you that this transfer market was very hard for us to reach our targets, but at the last minute, on the last day, there was this situation which was good for me and the club to improve the squad”.

Yet, the decision paid off as even without the Brazilian star Liverpool managed to secure all the three points at Chelsea with another impressive performance.

“I will be very happy if our fans clap him at the beginning and afterwards he is an enemy”.

History will be on the side of Chelsea, who have lost just once in their last eight Premier League games against Liverpool.

By the end of the first half, the match looked to be over.

Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has played down any injury concerns over Daniel Sturridge after the striker was replaced in the second half of the 2-1 victory at Chelsea on Friday night (16 September). “We have to reflect a lot on this game because it is important to understand the situation if we don’t want to have another bad season”.

The midfielder won’t score many better than that in his career and, given his inconsistent start to the season, he will surely be watching it on repeat for some time yet.

The former Italy national team manager waited until late in the game to make three substitutions.

“I’m the coach, so I must work more on this aspect”.

He asked them to pay attention to details if they want to think like a great team. “Chelsea is a great team but we must show this in every single game – to pay attention, to be focused”.
