Chelsea must regroup ahead of important week, says Thibaut Courtois

On Saturday he defending champions slumped to their eighth league defeat of the campaign, an unprecedented number of a Mourinho managed team.

They sit just three points above the relegation zone having scored just seventeen goals – one fewer than Bournemouth – in their first fifteen games on the season and won only fifteen points.

They lost just thrice at Stamford Bridge in their last three full seasons combined.

“Stability in performances has a big relation with individual performances and we had today again a couple that you need more, you expect more and they don’t give enough”.

‘Let’s think about winning the next game and forget about targets because to fix targets with our inconsistency is hard’. I don’t think they can. You can imagine now with this defeat at home, obviously Chelsea will never be challenging for relegation.

Mourinho also suggested that Bournemouth had indulged in time-wasting.

“He keeps faith in what he feels is his best eleven”. If John Terry is fit, he’ll always play.

“But after saying he had no problem with a squad night out in midweek, he did question his players’ consistency after a poor run that has also seen them suffer home defeats by Crystal Palace, Southampton and Liverpool in the league this season”.

“In the dressing room, sometimes they need to have a pop at each other and they’re not doing it, the modern day footballer”.

Mourinho had cause for complaint when the ball hit Simon Francis’ hand in the Bournemouth box and Glenn Murray’s decisive goal had a hint of offside about it, with the Blues boss ruing his side’s luck.

Keegan, talking to beIN Sports, added: “Chelsea are struggling to find any kind of form”. To get in the top four?

“It’s not only gone because there is a gap appearing, it’s gone because they’ve lost their way”.

Whereas Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho’s post-match comments are often loaded with confidence and, some might say, arrogance, he seemed much more unsure after Chelsea’s embarrassing defeat on Saturday.

While he expected them to chase the ball more given they had less of it, he did not expect to see only Nemanja Matic feature from Chelsea among the players who covered the most distance. The Blues have looked abysmal this season, and the boos that rang out around the stadium after the final whistle show the fans’ growing discontent with the players and the manager. Hazard is the same.

He said: “Things that have been overlooked was Courtois being injured, that was a big loss”.

When Mourinho first took charge of Chelsea in 2004, Bournemouth were languishing in the third tier of English football.

“These are the sort of games you want to get promoted for and the grounds you want to come and play at”.

On another occasion, Artur Boruc pounced on Willian’s tantalizing low cross from the right off an awkward bounce in the fifth minute and Boruc was put to work again towards the end of the first half, sprawling across his goal to tip Pedro’s deflected effort wide.
