Chelsea restore order after Mourinho axe, Leicester five clear

Chelsea’s new interim manager Guus Hiddink (L), former player Didier Drogba (C) and Chelsea‘s Russian owner Roman Abramovich walk onto the pitch to speak to the players after winning the English Premier League football match between Chelsea and Sunderland at Stamford Bridge in London on December 19, 2015.

Despite Drogba still having a year left on his contract in the MLS, Hiddink admitted he wants the 37-year-old to be part of his team.

“During his career, Jose has sometimes chosen to leave a club, but only at Chelsea has the club decided that he should leave”, Mourinho agency said in a statement.

“You get close to the people you work with, and it’s sad when that changes, but we had an important game two days after and I had a responsibility to the fans and the club”.

“The fans will be happy and they will be going home with smiles on their faces but rightly they are disappointed and so are we, we don’t want to be where we are”.

Borini has struggled for goals ever since moving to Sunderland from Liverpool in the summer transfer window, and there is hope that his strike against Chelsea will help him push on for the vital matches ahead.

John Terry says Chelsea will come out on top if they put in performances like the one against Sunderland.

The veteran forward, whose penalty kick won the club their only Champions League title and made him a Blues hero, has previously spoken of a desire to return to Chelsea in a coaching capacity.

Mourinho’s second Stamford Bridge stint crashed to a halt last week, seven months after the Premier League title – but also following nine defeats in 16 league games this term.
