Today Chelsea also announced a deal to sign midfielder Kante from Leicester City for a reported £32m, but that’s not the end of their spending spree.

Kante is Chelsea’s second signing of the summer after Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi joined from Marseille.

Leicester said they accepted a club record fee on Friday before Kante finalised terms and completed a medical.

Conte has made no secret of his desire to sign a goalscorer and PFA Player of the Year Mahrez, who hit 17 last season, fits the bill.
