Chelsea star set for Tuesday scan: He could miss Liverpool clash

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte bemoaned the rough treatment he felt was dished out to Diego Costa in his side’s 2-2 draw at Swansea City.

“That’s why we are sad with this game”.

“It’s a clear foul – the England worldwide told BBC Sport – I’m frustrated”.

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill says referee Andre Mariner missed a foul before Swansea managed to level the game with Leroy Fer’s counter-attack.

Diego Costa netted twice for Chelsea at Swansea, but manager Antonio Conte was frustrated as a number of fouls against him went unpunished.

And, ahead of hard games against Southampton, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal to come, Swansea captain Cork says both players and fans will be eyeing a more consistent run of results heading into the next global break. “But if you can kill the game, you must kill the game”.

“We conceded two goals – one after our free-kick – and the second goal I think that everyone can see the situation”.

They constantly fouled the hot-headed Costa, who stood up to the physical challenge and gave it back in return, and Amat in particular was fortunate not to get sent off for repeat fouling in a niggly but enthralling game. “See where we made some mistakes, see what we did well to continue like this”.

Jack Cork believes Swansea’s battling 2-2 draw against Chelsea can be used as a platform to build momentum heading into a tricky run of fixtures.

The Swans travel to Southampton on Sunday before home games against Manchester City and Liverpool and a trip to Arsenal.

“I think we had control of the game most of the time. We played without any fear in the second half and showed that we can play better”.
