Chelsea striker Costa’s shin injury assessed in hospital
It was a dramatic end to a pulsating game, where Chelsea came back from 2-0 and 3-2 down to draw as they moved a point further clear of the relegation zone. This comeback was sparked off by none other than striker Diego Costa.

David Moyes believes Everton need to learn to “shut up shop” after conceding a late equaliser in the 3-3 draw with Chelsea – the second time the Blues have been pegged back in the 98th-minute this season.
Costa returned the favor, backheeling the ball into the path of Fabregas, and the midfielder’s deflected shot pulled Chelsea level. Here’s a video of the goal. The defender saved the ailing champions, having scored an own goal at the start of a second half that produced all six goals.
Reacting to Terry’s strike, Hiddink said: “Sometimes it goes in your favour during a season but you have to be fair”. Chelsea had shown little in way of attacking adventure at that point and it was hard to see them mustering two goals and this only made the fightback even more special. “Going 2-0 down was a tremendous setback”.
“We knew we had enough time to create a chance or something”.
But Terry converted after a late bombardment, to the fury of the visitors after seven minutes’ stoppage time had been signalled by the fourth official, to earn a scarcely believable point.
“It is on his shin he was in a lot of pain”, the 69-year-old continued.
But Costa went off with a shin injury and immediately was sent for a scan.
As the clock hit 90 minutes, Ramiro Funes Mori seized the lead and Everton celebrated as if a first win at Chelsea since 1994 was locked up.
“I always had my attitude that when something has to be done, yes or no, we don’t go public before we do something”.
“The aim and ambitions we had for fourth place, we had to make three points in each of these two home games”, said Hiddink, whose side had drawn 2-2 at home to West Bromwich Albion in their previous match.
However, with the game beyond the allotted seven additional minutes, Terry flicked Oscar’s header beyond Tim Howard to ensure the spoils were shared.
Sunderland took the lead against the run of play when Adam Johnson found Patrick Van Aanholt with a fabulous defence-splitting pass and the full-back beat goalkeeper Hugo Lloris at his near post.
Everton boss Roberto Martinez railed against the decision to allow Terry’s equaliser to stand.
