Chelsea to use starlets in transfer deal, Real Madrid star defender wanted

Chelsea and AS Roma are talking about the future of Kostas Manolas and Radja Nainggolan as Antonio Conte is a long time admirer of the Giallorossi duo.

Walter Sabatini, the sporting director of Roma, has been in London this week, and Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic has become the newest name to be linked with his visit.

Chelsea are in the advanced stages of negotiations with Roma for the Star Midfielder and may cost the Blues €35million (£28.2million) to bring the player into the Stamford Bridge.

The player-plus-cash transfer could include promising midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who would be a direct replacement for Nainggolan, or highly-rated defender Andreas Christensen.

In their 2014-15 Premier League-winning campaign, Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic dominated the centre of the park for Chelsea, but they have both been out of form this term.

Branislav Ivanovic has been captaining the Chelsea side this season while John Terry has been out injured.

Manolas would represent a potential long-term partner for Kurt Zouma at Chelsea as Conte looks to completely rebuild the squad.

Nainggolan has attracted the interest of EUrope’s top clubs after a string of convincing performances for Roma this season – and the Italian powerhouse are not willing to part with him cheaply.
