Sule is considered as one of the brightest young defenders in German football and it appears that potential alerted Chelsea with the Evening Standard claiming the Blues tried to sign the centre-back during the summer transfer window. Today, Chelsea are linked with Niklas Sule….
The agent of Hoffenheim defender Niklas Sule has confirmed Chelsea made an attempt to sign the youngster over the summer.
Despite just being 21, he has already notched up 84 senior appearances for Hoffenheim and has a contract until 2019 with the club.
“I’ve got my familiar environment here”, Sule explained.
The Germany global, fresh from winning silver at the Olympic Games this summer, is under contract with the Bundesliga side until 2019. The Reds’ interest, though, remains strong, and Express suggests that a January bid for the 20-year-old is not out of the question. “That was and is very important for my development and the base to put in constant performances at a high level”.
Liverpool, for example, already have strong interest in Christian Pulisic, the teenage American with Borussia Dortmund.
