Chelsea will find form – Mourinho

Actually, for quite a while now come to think of it. It’s a measure of how far Chelsea‘s levels have dropped that a 1-0 home win against an unambitious Norwich City can be considered tangible progress.

Referee Craig Pawson rejected three penalty appeals – two from Chelsea, one from Norwich – in the first half, with replays justifying the decisions.

Nathan Redmond produced the first shot on target when he drew a save from Asmir Begovic with a powerful drive from a tight angle, while Willian tested John Ruddy at the other end following a threatening run from Hazard.

“Every game you don’t score goals you have five kilos more pressure added”, Mourinho said.

Norwich were stubborn in their resistance and the visitors will feel they could have had a first-half penalty for a foul on Robbie Brady but in truth Chelsea merited the win.

Costa admitted earlier this season to reporting for pre-season overweight and the striker, prolific last term in Chelsea’s title triumph, had scored just three times prior to the worldwide break.

Fabregas also stressed how important it could be for Chelsea if Diego Costa started scoring more regularly.

Defender Kurt Zouma missed France’s friendlies over the worldwide break with an unspecified problem while Radamel Falcao continues to recover from a muscular injury.

“There will be no more players going out on loan or leaving the club in any shape or form until January”.

There are so many questions surrounding Chelsea FC’s season, but will today’s Premier League game against Norwich City show us any answers for Jose Mourinho’s team?

“But we could cope with the last five minutes, we could cope with that pressure because the pressure was there”.

It remains to be seen what will happen with this player but this move is quite a sensible one.

All the talk at the half was about bringing on Loic Remy for the dismal Costa, but no changes were made by either side as the teams emerged for the second 45.

“When you lose confidence, you lose this fluent game”.

The caveat of the board’s support was that results must improve, but Chelsea have won twice in seven games since.

In general, Chelsea could take encouragement from the performance but they could have said that quite a lot recently. I’m always saying he deserves it, 100 per cent. We’re not playing well but that doesn’t mean we’re not in favour of the manager or something like that.
