People are asking for the resignation and arrest of Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder in relation to water crisis.

MLive.com and WDIV-TV report that the protesters arrived in Lansing via buses from Flint and Detroit. Less than a month ago, an aide said the state’s top law enforcer would stay on the sideline.

This week, the National Guard started distributing bottled water to residents. Residents immediately complain about the smell, taste and appearance of the water.
According to a release from The White House, “this emergency assistance is to provide water, water filters, water filter cartridges, water test kits, and other necessary related items for a period of no more than 90 days”, and is to alleviate “the hardship and suffering caused by the emergency on the local population”.
“The best thing for the people of Flint is that every effort is focused on solving this emergency, getting the aid needed to help the residents, and ensuring that clean drinkable water is restored to the city”, he said.
The agency says it will send a recommendation to President Barack Obama as “expeditiously as possible”.
The more corrosive water from the Flint River leached lead from the city pipes more than Detroit water did, leading to the problems.
Chief health officer Mark Valacak tells The Associated Press he “had no idea” that Gov. Rick Snyder was holding a news conference Wednesday to disclose the findings. The state returned some financial control to the city previous year, and Snyder said Friday that he wanted to give it still more autonomy. But Snyder agrees with Mayor Karen Weaver that it’s time to transfer that authority. The city changed its water supply as a result of cost cutting back in 2014. The governor has asked the board to support a transfer of power to the mayor.
That was the amount Flint expected to save with their water-source switch. The move would unlock federal funds to fix Flint’s water system and help residents. Snyder declared an emergency in Flint earlier this month.
Schuette, a Republican, is considered a likely a candidate for governor.
Despite not drinking the water, one family’s 4-year-old child was poisoned by lead.
Valacak says Legionnaires’ disease isn’t associated with drinking tainted water. “While everyone acknowledges that mistakes were made”, he said, “my duty as attorney general requires that I conduct this investigation”.
Marc Edwards, a water quality expert who is leading an independent probe of the scandal, said that the country’s Environmental Protection Agency [EPA] also played a role in trying to cover up Flint’s crisis.

And a Flint pediatrician, Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, announced that records showed blood lead levels in local toddlers doubled and even tripled in some cases since the water switch.
