Chevrolet Bolt EV priced from $37495
Now General Motors (GM) has unveiled the starting price of its new Chevrolet Bolt EV to the tune of MSRP $37,495. Another thing to be considered is that after paying the federal tax credit costing $7,500, the price of this cool vehicle will fall down and becomes a good $30,000.

“Value is a hallmark for Chevrolet and the pricing of the Bolt EV proves we’re serious about delivering the first affordable EV with plenty of range for our customers”, said Alan Batey, president of GM North America.
Specifically, the Bolt is one of the first electrics to offer a true anxiety-free commuting range – 238-plus miles – and a price just below $30,000 after tax breaks.
The very important price factor will be unveiled later on this year, but betting on a base price will undercut the Tesla Model 3’s USD$35,000 is a sure thing.
Chevy won’t say exactly when the Bolt EV will go on sale, only that it will arrive at “select dealerships” late in the year.
Another perk for electric-car drivers is entry into the carpool lane, a time saver and frustration reducer.
Then there’s what is happening in the marketplace, especially when it comes to the Tesla Model 3, which, despite Tesla’s past history of production delays, has more than 400,000 pre-orders for the auto.
The Bolt EV features a 60-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery. The pricing does include all destination and freight charges.
This week a century-old Detroit automaker, General Motors Co., not Tesla, unveiled the latest breakthrough electric auto.
General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) made headlines this week by announcing its 2017 Chevy Bolt, a auto many industry execs see as a potential thorn in the side of Tesla Motors (NASDAQ:TSLA).
Instead of being called the Bolt, GM’s 200-mile all-electric hatch is known as the Opel Ampera-e, but for some reason the vehicle is not going to parallel the launch of its U.S. counterpart for next year.
The Bolt’s 238-miles range “is a potential milestone for EVs”, said David Reichmuth, a senior engineer at the Union of Concerned Scientists, in an interview with the San Jose Mercury News-gushing that the mix of long range, affordability and zippy ride could spark “a revolution”. That drops the price down to $29,995. The Premier trim includes “surround vision” as standard equipment (using four cameras) and an option package that includes forward collision avoidance, lane centering and front pedestrian braking.

The Bolt comes in two trim levels, the LT and the more upscale “Premier” edition with leather seating.
