Chevrolet Bolt rated 383km range by US EPA
GM believes the Bolt is different because it will offer more than 200 miles range fully charged and will have an estimated starting price of $37,000 before the $7,500 federal tax rebate is applied.

Other lower-cost electric cars from major manufacturers, such as the Nissan Leaf or GM’s own Chevrolet Spark EV, have had driving ranges of less than 100 miles. Trouble is, the only cars that now fit that bill are Teslas, and cheap they are not.
However bear in mind that the Chevrolet Bolt EV shares the Regen on demand braking feature with the Chevrolet Volt and this is said to add on another 5% to the range.
The average selling price for a new vehicle in the United States is about Dollars 31,000, and GM reported that in August, its vehicles were sold to USA consumers at an average of Dollars 36,730.
The two companies have been been making a case that their new electric cars will be the better option.
Automakers have been extending how far electric vehicles can go on a charge. The Bolt will be priced at $37,500, but there’s a federal tax credit of $7500, putting the price of the Bolt right around $30,000, roughly half that of the Tesla Model S 60, which only goes 210 miles per charge, and just below the average new auto price in America.
The Bolt is also seen as the first affordable fully electric auto. The new Model S P100D can go about 315 miles (507 kilometers) per charge, but it starts at $134,500 without the credit. Drivers should expect to cruise for 238 miles on a single charge, almost 20 percent longer than the initial estimate of 200 miles. Plenty of range, cargo space, technology and safety features make the Bolt EV a great package for any driver.

The Bolt is also a keystone of GM’s strategy for autonomous vehicle and ride-sharing services like Lyft and Maven.
