Chevrolet Silverado Design Enhancements Are Spot On
With the fullsize pickup market still growing, Chevrolet is introducing several changes to its 2016 Silverado, which is still some years away from a total redesign.

Not one to rest on its laurels, the Chevy Trucks division is embarking on an aggressive strategy to build on the current momentum of its full-size pickup’s sales performance. Our guess is that the heavy-duty lineup will receive the same treatment.
The 2016 vehicles, which will be in dealerships later this year, may contribute to what Chevy says is a good year. Angry, taut, brawny, and not to be messed with are the first words that came to our minds when we saw that front fascia.
Stacked headlights have been a fixture on Chevy’s big pickup since 1990.
Chevrolet spokesman Tom Wilkinson said the Silverado for 2016 gets new headlamps, a new grille and hood and back taillights.
The lower fascia has also been redesigned and features smaller vertical fog lights. As expected, the new eight-speed transmission (previously only available on the 6.2-liter V-8) will move through various 5.3-liter V-8 models, but will not be standard on all V-8-equipped trucks. Expect the vehicle’s corporate cousin, the GMC Sierra 1500, to also adopt numerous updates. Unfortunately, there are no more photos of the truck, with GM announcing that more will be available closer to the workhorse’s official debut this fall. However, Chevrolet states that the truck will have additional safety technologies.

Other changes for 2016 will include expanded use of 8-speed automatic transmissions, updated Chevy MyLink with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and additional safety technologies.
