Later in the show, Payne stopped by Corden’s couch, where the host asked her why she posted the video in the first place.

“We invited Candace Payne – whose Chewbacca mask video got 141 million views and is now the most-watched Facebook Live video ever – to come by Facebook HQ today”.

Abrams then puts on his own Chewbacca mask and he and Candace Chewie sounds at one another, causing another laughing fit.

After posting her video of her purchase of the mask, Panye has racked up over 141 million views thanks in part to her charm, joy and of course, her laugh.

As if that wasn’t enough, Payne took her enthusiasm to “Good Morning America” Monday morning where she was gifted even more Star Wars toys and a $2,500 gift certificate from Hasbro Toys to share the fun with others.

“I gotta disagree”, says Star Wars director J.J. Abrams. Payne declared as she tried on the mask, spurring a #HappyChewbacca hashtag on Twitter. I’m like, I didn’t buy it for you, little kids.

Pointing to the Star Wars box she declares: “This is part of my birthday joy”. When you are a stay-at-home mom, every now and then you just need an adult conversation.

Payne, now known to social media world as “Chewbacca Lady”, has a laugh that is infectious. Payne admitted she wasn’t even a serious “Star Wars” fan, she was just at Kohl’s looking for a pair of yoga trousers and had the urge to buy the mask. “I think people were with me, going ‘I needed that, I needed that'”.

“I wanted to prove to all my Facebook friends and family that that mask was mine”, Payne said.

Speaking to the BBC about her newfound stardom, Candace has said: “That’s just insane”.

“I’d love to get to meet you and your family in person”, the message continued, saying that Peter had arranged to meet with Candace at the Dallas Fan Expo – along with VIP passes for her and her family.
