‘Chewbacca mom’ takes James Corden and J.J. Abrams to work

Candace Payne, aka “Chewbacca Mom, ‘ appears in a “Late Late Show” sketch with James Corden and ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens” director JJ Abrams. The picture was liked more than 200,000 times on Facebook and shared almost 70,000 times.

The clip showed Payne laughing hysterically after putting on the mask, and the amusing video with the sweet reminder that “it’s the simple joys in life” became a huge hit – not only has it been viewed more than 110 million times, but it has earned the title of the most-watched Facebook Live video ever, according to Us Weekly.

“I’ve got to disagree”.

James, sitting in the passenger seat: “I know that you’re pleased with your purchase, but I have places to go”. “I had seen this before, but I didn’t realize it made sound until that moment”, she said.

She has to remove her glasses to put the mask on and, revealing the Wookiee groan that is let out when she opens her mouth, she says: “That’s not me making that noise”. The Star Wars Chewbacca Electronic Mask that featured in Facebook’s most viewed live video has sold out pretty much everywhere. “I feel like I deserve a gold medal, just to say that I actually have broken a record that deserves maybe a podium and a whole song and maybe some flowers”, she joked of her viral stardom.

But while Payne and her family may be set on masks, Kohl’s has struggled to keep up with sudden demand.

“My son, he was kind of ticked off after he watched the video”, she adds. It’s good for a laugh. She even heard from an appreciative mother who has an autistic daughter who hasn’t laughed in a long while, until she saw Payne and her silly impulse buy on social media. Thank you, I’m just popular.’ And I said, ‘OK, we’re going to bring down that in just a couple seconds, ‘ ” she said.
