If news sources are to be believed, the actor will be seen as the underworld don in Sanjay Gupta’s next which is based on author S Hussain Zaidi’s Byculla To Bangkok.

Rajan, 55, reached CBI headquarters around 6 a.m. All routes leading the the CBI headquarters have been sealed by Delhi Police. The agency will match the voice samples of Rajan to build up their case, the officer said. While Gupta mentions to the publication that there are a lot of surprises in store.

55-year-old Rajan, had been on the run for past 27 years. More importantly, as Rajan boarded the plane in Bali, Mumbai police chief Ahmad Javed called a press conference to announce that all the cases registered against the gangster have been transferred to the CBI.

The Mumbai police has almost 70 cases registered against Rajan, including 20 of murder, four cases under the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act, one under the Prevention of Terrorism Act and over 20 cases under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act.

“He managed to go from such a low rank, black marketing cinema tickets, to becoming a rival to Dawood Ibrahim”, S. Hussain Zaidi, author of more than half a dozen books on Mumbai’s underworld, told AFP.

He was brought to India by a joint team headed by CBI officials, reports said. However, Rajan himself informed TV channel Times Now prior to his departure from Bali that he had no hand in Dey’s killing. Delay due to Bali airport closure ends.

After the serial bomb blasts of Mumbai (March 12, 1993) differences rose between the two don’s Rajan and Dawood. Kasab was the lone terrorist captured alive and Jundal was the handler of the 26/11 terror attack; Salem, who was brought to India over a decade ago in November 2005, was wanted by the police forces of Bhopal, Hyderabad, Lucknow and Mumbai. A special cell to house Rajan had been readied at Arthur Road Jail; as was a bullet-proof ward at JJ Hospital to take care of his kidney problems and dialysis.

He will be produced in court today for facing trial in various criminal cases registered against him in Delhi and Mumbai.
