Republican frontrunner Donald Trump tweeted a veiled threat to the Ricketts family, the owners of the Chicago Cubs, for contributing to the anti-Trump Our Principles PAC, suggesting they have secrets and “better be careful”.
Keen observers of the political landscape may have discerned this bit of information: The Republican establishment sort of hates its presidential front-runner Donald Trump. It’s created to scare people out of contributing, but I don’t think any of our donors were deluded into thinking they wouldn’t become targets of Trump. Joe Ricketts planned to run ads in 2012 linking President Barack Obama with the President’s controversial former minister Jeremiah Wright, who was known for a series of anti-white and anti-Jewish speeches.
If you do something Donald Trump doesn’t like, there’s a pretty good chance he’ll tweet about it. Members of the Ricketts family are long-time contributors to political campaigns, especially supporters of Republican candidates.
Tom Ricketts (r) has responded to the Trump accusations. “My family does get involved in the different aspects of our policy debate”, Ricketts explained.

Earlier this year, the Rickettses supported Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker for president, who dropped out of the race in September. “If you nominate a guy who abandons all the views we have advocated for the last few decades, then we don’t have a party”, Packer said, according to The Hill.
