The city is about 460 miles northwest of Chicago near the Minnesota-Wisconsin state line.

Martin is wanted in connection with the gang-related shooting that killed the 7-year-old and wounded a 26-year-old woman shortly before midnight July 4 in the 1100 block of North Harding in Humboldt Park. Chicago Police Supt. Garry McCarthy said Brown was the intended target, but his attorney denies that claim.

‘Martin is being held in the Douglas County Jail pending extradition to Illinois, ‘ the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said in a Wednesday news release. According to that arrest report, he had a scar from a gunshot wound to his stomach. CBS Chicago reported that Martin was apparently aiming for Amari Brown’s father, Antonio Brown, who has been arrested 45 times.

McCarthy offered no evidence that Antonio Brown had been the intended target in the shooting that killed Amari.
