He said that Morgan had at least two other accomplices.

He added that Morgan is believed to have two accomplices, although did not state their alleged roles in the killing. In addition to charges against Morgan, an arrest warrant has been issued for Kevin Edwards.
McCarthy said police received “an very bad lot of intelligence from the community”, unlike in other cases in which people have been unwilling to come forward.
It was an act of barbarism, the assassination of a 9-year-old child as a gang retaliation to get back at his father.
GoFundMe Police have made an arrest in the shooting death of Tyshawn Lee, 9.
But Tyshawn’s father, 25-year-old Pierre Stokes, disputed authorities’ characterization of him, telling the Chicago Tribune that no one would have a motive to hurt him – and that if someone did, he would not target his son. Stokes is now on probation for a 2011 armed robbery conviction. He has a prior conviction for aggravated unlawful use of weapon and was sentenced to two years of probation.
Law enforcement sources have said Tyshawn may be the latest victim of a violent gang feud.
He also vowed that both gang factions involved in Tyshawn’s killing and the other retaliatory slayings and shootings had signed their own “death warrants”.
“We’re going to go destroy that gang now, and the rival gang…we’re going to assign resources that will ensure that neither one of those gangs can raise its head again”.
“This is a crime that shook our city”, McCarthy said at his Friday morning press conference.
“Tyshawn Lee was failed on many levels but at the end of the day our detectives were unrelenting in the pursuit of justice”, he said. He was arrested on an unrelated gun charge and was released on bail earlier this week. Tyshawn’s family said he loved to play basketball and video games.
Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy has said the boy was lured into the alley and killed because of his father’s gang ties.

McCarthy expressed confidence that the unnamed man in custody won’t be released anytime soon and that authorities will find Edwards, whom they’ve been hunting for weeks. “We’re definitely going to catch him”.
