“I feel like I was robbed of everything”, he said.
He pleaded not guilty to all charges on Tuesday (Wednesday NZ time) at the Cook County criminal court in Chicago.
The lawsuit seeks $200,000 for the wrongful death of Quintonio LeGrier and the false arrest of Antonio LeGrier. He said it would be “in the best interest of fairness and justice in this case”.
A woman was accidentally shot and killed while police were responding to a domestic dispute involving a 19-year old man, who also died.
YouTube Vance Henry, a deputy chief of staff to Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, was phsyically assaulted while attending a virigl for two popele who were killed by police over the weekend.
Chicago Mayor, Rahm Emanuel, has made a decision to come home early from his vacation in Cuba to address the fatal shooting of two more black residents by a city police department already under federal investigation over its use of deadly force.
On Sunday morning, Antonio LeGrier called police to respond to his son, who suffered from mental illness and was banging on a door with a baseball bat. “He was an honors student”.
According to the Washington Post, Bettie Jones was also known as a community activist who spoke out on issues such as police brutality. But time and time again, his emotions took over. Asked whether he relayed details about that when he called 911, he told CNN he couldn’t recall the exact words he used during the early morning call. He lamented that no one helped him. But attention should be paid to Quintonio LeGrier, too.
“Trigger- happy cops are still engaged in senseless murders of people of color”, Ira Acree, pastor of the Greater St. John Bible Church, said at the vigil. A police statement said officers “were confronted by a combative subject resulting in the discharging of the officer’s weapon”. Emanuel has said an investigation into how police handled the case is being reopened. That means about 200 Chicago officers missed out on the class, James said. “He was just trying to turn away”. “The facts don’t bear that out”.
“The department extends its deepest condolences to the victim’s family and friends”, the Police Department said. “I’m his voice”, LeGrier said, touching his hand to chest.
Police did not disclose the race of the officer, saying only that those involved will be placed on administrative duties for 30 days while ‘training and fitness for duty requirements can be conducted’.
