Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump is once again facing repeated disruptions from protesters as he campaigns in Kansas City, Missouri. But entering in force allowed protesters to break out in celebratory cheering and dancing when a Trump representative took to the stage to announce the rally had been cancelled. “Bernie’s crowd. They’re Bernie’s crowd”.
“We are going to take it back”, said Trump of protesters.
The progressive group MoveOn.org, which has endorsed Sanders, confirmed in a statement Saturday that it helped students print signs for the protests at the Chicago rally and recruit members to attend the “student-led protest”.
Since casting Mexicans immigrants as rapists and criminals in his June announcement speech, Trump has encouraged supporters to embrace anger tinged with xenophobia.
A North Carolina man was arrested after video footage showed him punching an African-American protester being led out of a Trump rally in that state on Wednesday. During a visit to Cincinnati he said there is “no place for a national leader to prey on the fears of people ” .
Political professor at Roosevelt University Paul Green said the location was an unusual choice and a long way from where other presidential candidates have chosen to rally – all in the suburbs. The supporter, later charged with assault, told an interviewer the next time he confronted a protester, “We might have to kill him”.
Trump, meanwhile, could put the Republican nomination out of reach to others in Tuesday’s slate of five delegate-rich primaries.
“Get your people in line, Bernie”, Trump said.
“I wanted the message to be heard, ‘America is already great without the hate, ‘” said Brown of his appearance onstage Friday night.
“They’re Bernie fans!” Trump said in Cleveland.
Kasich said the “toxic environment” Trump is creating “makes it very, extremely difficult” to support him. “The eyes of the world will look upon America closely to see how we conduct ourselves”, he said.

It’s been well known that protests were increasing at Trump rallies and that Trump was pushing back hard.

Even as Trump described the rallies as “gatherings of great love”, Rachel Maddow compiled a series of clips of Trump responding to previous scuffles at his reallies, including exhortations for his supporters to “knock the crap out of anybody getting ready to throw a tomato” and to “just knock the hell out- I promise you, I will pay for the legal fees.
