Chick-Fil-A Did What They Never Do After Orlando Shooting

Chick-Fil-A is a franchise known nationally to have an owner with a strong disapproval for gay marriages.

In 2012, the company’s CEO Dan Cathy made comments supporting “traditional marriage”.

The employees at a Chick-Fil-A restaurant in Orlando performed a generous act of kindness when they found out about the Orlando terror attack. After hearing from unhappy customers – as well as some store operators and employees – Cathy later said, “I’m going to leave it to politicians and others to discuss social issues”.

Mateen’s actions inspired action of another kind Sunday, as employees from some area Chick-fil-A restaurants in Florida reported to work to help provide food for first responders and those donating blood to victims of the nightclub shooting that killed 49 and injured 53.

“Turns out, that while the founders definitely don’t approve of that choice of lifestyle, they believe in compassion”, she wrote.

NY mayor Bill de Blasio recently called for a boycott of the popular fast food restaurant, stating “Chick-fil-A is anti-LGBT”.

Users on Twitter responded with nothing but kind words and praises in response to the way Chick-Fil-A offered free food to those donating blood to the victims of the Orlando massacre.

By working on Sunday, the Chick-fil-A restaurants broke a company policy against opening on Sunday that has been in place since 1946.
