On Tuesday, Glendale police tweeted out a photo showing people camped out in tents and perched under umbrellas to sleep comfortably throughout the night and stay cool under the Sunday.

On Monday, Chick-fil-A was represented at the Advertising Week New York kick-off with the Nasdaq closing bell celebration for the newest inductees for the Madison Avenue Advertising Walk of Fame, because tbrand’s Eat Mor Chikin Cowz were inducted in 2007. “This is unbelievable. So many of us have been craving this and now it’s here”.

But will New York’s famously liberal residents welcome the chicken chain?

As part of the grand-opening event Saturday, 100 adults will have the chance to win free Chick-fil-A meals for a year.

Chick-fil-A fans, rejoice!

Among the areas the company doesn’t have as many stores are New England and the Northwest.

While other fast food restaurants, such as McDonald’s, are struggling and announcing location closings, Chick-fil-A remains profitable.

Chick-fil-A now has more than 1,900 stores in 42 states, although its heaviest presence is in the South. When it opens, the NYC location will be the largest in the county. That is the case for Amanda Haas, a 25-year-old administrative assistant in New York City who grew up in Texas. The Times takes a look at how the company operates and how it’s preparing for the New York opening.

Chick-fil-A made national headlines in 2012 over the politics of its founding family. A restaurant consultant named Aaron Allen remarks: “Unlike any other restaurant organization we’ve seen, there’s more religion baked into Chick-fil-A as a brand – and it works for them”.

But there’s a catch: they will have to campout until the store opens its doors. “If [CEO Dan Cathy] is going to uphold those Christian beliefs, he won’t be able to refuse these homeless people”, she said.
