Chicken row X Factor hopefuls through to next round

Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh have a love/hate relationship and it looks like we’re going to see more of that on tonight’s X Factor.

Other singers hoping to get four yeses from judges Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh are 19-year-old potato farmer Jordan Devine, from Strabane, in Northern Ireland, who is delighted to meet his hero Walsh, and Peter Richard, a 67-year-old vehicle salesman, who bears a striking resemblance to Bono and performs U2’s hit Beautiful Day. “I think you are worse together”.

However, the pair still secured the thumbs up from the other three judges and sailed through to boot camp. “You were born to do this”.

Spare a thought for the girl who’d just been saying she didn’t think Simon Cowell was the best judge before he walks in.

The Irish singer was dumped out of the talent show in 2014 when Cowell swapped her during the Six Chair Challenge at the last minute.

The 28-year-old admitted she almost gave up on making it big in the music industry, but a tweet from Cowell confirming he had made a mistake to drop Janet from the show encouraged her to come back for more.

Well now she is back to sing the hell out of Zayn Malik’s Pillowtalk. Grogan was then awarded a Yes from all four.

Another singer making it through to the next round was barman Niall Sexton, 22, from Londonderry, Co Londonderry, Northern Ireland, who impressed the panel with his performance of Gravity by Sara Bareilles.

And Conor McGinty, 21, also from Londonderry, got the thumbs up with his rendition of Say Something by A Great Big World.
