Gradually, Manning returned to form and threw a pair of TDs in the second quarter.

The time in 1996 when the Chiefs finished with a 13-3 regular season record and seemed destined for a long-awaited Super Bowl appearance, but lost at home to the Indianapolis Colts thanks to three missed field goals by kicker Lin Elliott? Favre is the all-time leading passer in National Football League history with 71,838 yards but Manning is now nipping at his heels with 70,122.

“I’ve been in insane games, but never one quite like that”, Denver Broncos vs St. Louis Rams” Manning said.

“That was a new one for me”, said Manning. It was tough all night. They just make it hard all night. “When we had to have it, our defense kept us in it. That last drive was good and I’m really proud of our offensive line and (wide receiver Demaryius Thomas) made some great plays”. Manning threw a touchdown pass to Sanders with 36 seconds left to tie the score.

But during the game in which Manning reached such an impressive milestone, he face complications in the first half, as he was unable to complete any deep passes. “I tried to put the team on my back and I ended up losing the game. That was unbelievable “. But he delivered a shot in the final seconds of the Chiefs’ 31-24 loss to the Denver Broncos aimed directly at the player whose fumble was returned for a late touchdown, running back Jamaal Charles. Manning looked like an old MVP on that game-tying drive, but he didn’t need to prove it again in overtime.

Denver Broncos cornerback Bradley Roby (29) celebrates with teammates after he scored a touchdown on a fumble by Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles during the second half of an NFL football game in Kansas City, Mo., Thursday, September 17, 2015.

Peters picked off a pass in his debut last week, and then swiped a Manning pass Thursday and took it to the house. Both teams played well defensively but the Chiefs had so many chances to put the game away with dropped interceptions. The turnover was KC’s fifth of the game.

With 2:27 to play, Knile Davis found a huge hole and carried it eight yards into the end zone for the go-ahead score. On Tuesday, head coach Andy Reid suggested there was not going to be enough time for Fisher to achieve the stability necessary to play full-time against the Broncos on Thursday night.
