TEXANS: QUESTIONABLE: OLB Jadeveon Clowney (foot).

The Texans came into the game with the NFL’s hottest defense, but J.J.

The Chiefs absolutely hammered the Houston Texans on Saturday afternoon in the AFC Wild Card game, winning 30-0 and ending both an eight-game playoff losing streak along with a 22-year winless drought in the postseason.

Kansas City have been the NFL’s comeback kings this season recovering from a 1-5 start to post 10 consecutive victories.

The other franchise has a terrific recent regular-season record, making the playoffs for the fifth straight year. Kansas City relies on the undrafted Charcandrick West. Like Blue, the Chiefs’ Spencer Ware was a sixth-round pick. Despite the four-headed monster of Brian Hoyer, Ryan Mallett, T.J. Yates and Brandon Weeden at quarterback throwing him the ball, Hopkins finished third in receiving yards (1,521), third in receptions (111), third in first downs (83), seventh in receiving touchdowns (11), and seventh in reception of 20+ yards (19).

The Chiefs have been very good offensively but they will face a top defensive unit in Houston led by J.J. Watt. The Chiefs’ divisional opponent depends on who wins the Steelers-Bengals game tonight.

Cousins led the Redskins to an early first half lead last week against Dallas and then sat out the second half.

It’s hard to admit when you’re wrong, but could it be time for a lot of media types (this author included) to head to the local Hallmark store and grab a “Sorry” card for Houston Texans coach Bill O’Brien? Let me hear what you think about today’s game in the comments section below!

Smith said: “If we play the way we know we can play, we can play with anybody, beat anybody”.

The Texans have home field advantage here and they will hope that will aid them and swing things their way today.

Part of it is the quarterback situation – one that is reminiscent of Andre Johnson and all the wasted years he had in Houston with mediocre quarterbacks. Had DeAngelo Williams not gotten injured last week I might have a different feeling. “It definitely took points off the board and that’s on me”. That means the Chiefs’ defense – allowing 17.9 points, third-best in the National Football League – should be even better.

However, they come up against a team that will not be fazed by how the Chiefs have turned their season around this year. “He’ll be ready to roll”.

As Berry alluded to in the locker room two weeks ago, in a time flawless for disbelief, the Chiefs believed. The Texans are without their starting left tackle, Duane Brown, which opens the door for Kansas City if they’re healthy enough to capitalize.

“There’s more at stake, more on the line”.

HEATH-RAWLINGS: I’m not trying to mess with the editorial process here (editor’s note: yeah, right), but I really, really want to say “none” here.

THE first week of the National Football League playoffs kicked off with a bang in Houston, with Kansas City’s Knile Davis opening the game with an incredible touchdown. However, don’t sleep on outside linebacker Whitney Mercilus, who had 12 sacks. The Chiefs have given up on 15 of those touchdowns in their final 11 games.

“It was just a bad decision”, Hoyer said. “We wanted to get after the quarterback and make our plays in the backfield”.
