The San Diego Chargers had a tough 2015 campaign finishing with only four wins to go along with 12 losses. The Chiefs got to Rivers for five sacks (Dee Ford accounted for three of the five Chiefs’ sacks) and one interception. That may not be the case this year, but Kansas City still looks to be the better team. LINE: Kansas City -6.5.

Reid did not commit to naming Spencer Ware as the team’s starter, saying all the team’s backs other than Charles would play. The Chiefs defense has been their calling card the last couple of years, allowing only 17.9 points per game in 2015, good for third in the NFL. This was the second time in 2015 that the Chargers were unable to score a touchdown against Kansas City.

– Running back Jamaal Charles is unlikely to play for the Kansas City Chiefs in Sunday’s season opener at the San Diego Chargers, coach Andy Reid said Friday.? I am expecting the Chiefs offense to step up this week and put the pressure on San Diego. Kansas City is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games on grass while the under is 5-2 in their last 7 home games and 3-1-1 in their last 5 vs. the AFC West.

The Chiefs have dominated the Chargers over the last two years by going 4-0 in their last four meetings.

In news regarding big-name tight ends, Rob Gronkowski won’t suit up for the New England Patriots with a bum hamstring, but the Seahawks’ Jimmy Graham is expected to play, Carroll said.
