Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles suffered torn ACL vs Bears

Cutler led the Bears to two touchdowns in the closing minutes Sunday, the second an alert toss to Matt Forte with 18 seconds remaining, giving Chicago an 18-17 comeback win after Kansas City lost star running back Jamaal Charles to a potentially season-ending knee injury.

“We’re still six months into it from just a learning aspect, not even a practicing aspect, but I like what I’ve seen and I expect him to get better moving forward”.

“It looks more like a torn ACL than anything else”, Chiefs coach Andy Reid said. Reid insisted after the game that K.C. will run a committee in Charles’ absence.

Injuries have piled up at an alarming rate, but the Bears (2-3) have won consecutive games for the first time since Weeks 2 and 3 last season.

The 28-year-old Charles, who is the franchise’s all-time leader in rushing yards and led the team again this season in the running game, played in only five games last season because of various injuries.

“There’s all kinds of ebbs and flows in games and shifts in momentum so that was, yeah, a big one that stands out”, said Fox of the block.

“He’s an fantastic guy that way”, Reid said.

“You find out and exploit the strengths of those other players and that’s the challenge as a coach, to make sure you’re putting them in a good position to do that”, said the Chiefs head coach.

The Chiefs then attempted what would been an National Football League record 66-yard field goal, as Reid said Santos has made kicks from that distance in practice.

In Chicago, we are used to having a dominant banger playing the Mike linebacker position. Charles, 28, told reporters this spring that he’d like to play until his mid- to late 30s, which would be unheard of for a running back. But the fact that Smith continues to insist that he isn’t inspired by watching Cutler quarterback for the Bears shows that his analysis is nothing more than comedy when it is not prejudicial, sexist, threatening, or simply idiotic.

It’s not just the fill-in running backs that need to step up, though. “I think when you look at Spencer, he’s probably got a combination of that; he can play a power game but he’s also got enough elusiveness there”. As for the Saints, Brees found a few production from both Snead and Brandin Cooks – who scored his first TD of the season last week – while Mark Ingram is still leading the Saints backfield. His composure throughout the game is just great. Neither managed much after Charles was hurt, with Maclin getting a 23-yard catch on the Chiefs’ final drive while Kelce unable to haul in any of his three targets afterward.

PASS DEFENSE: F. For the better part of three quarters, the Chiefs kept Jay Cutler and the Bears passing game under wraps.

“They ran a rub route, a pick play”, Abdullah said. “It’s going to be all of us on offense”.

Before his injury, the 4x Pro Bowler had 12 carries for 58 yards rushing. For comparison’s sake, Teddy Bridgewater has been sacked 13 times through four games, with seven of those coming against the Denver Broncos in Week 4. They could have folded the tent long ago but haven’t.
