Police say Leonardo was under the chair for up to 15 minutes before the day-care center noticed he was missing.

Sanchez believes this accident could have been prevented, and she is in the process of seeking legal representation.
The WJPD did not release the child’s name, but a GoFundMe page set up to help the family with expenses gave the toddler’s name as Leonardo Sanchez, son of Dan and Danielle Sanchez.
When she dropped him off at daycare, she never imagined it would be the last time she would see him alive.
Leo would have turned two on September 17, the day his parents now plan to hold his funeral. “How do you not hear him scream?”
Leonardo Sanchez would have turned 2 on Saturday, but instead of a birthday party, his parents are holding his funeral.
Police are investigating video footage from inside the daycare.
At this time, law officials have not yet charged the employee who had a direct hand in Leonardo’s death.
“We regret deeply the tragic death of a young toddler at our daycare facility”, it reads. “No words adequately describe the depth of the sorrow we feel”, the daycare center said in a statement.
Family members of the victim said they do not understand how this incident could have happened.
As Johnson told KSL: “We know the family well, we grieve with them, and we pray that God will provide them the comfort and peace they inevitably will need”. Danielle Sanchez said he had been going to that day care facility for about a year.
West Jordan Child Center has been in violation twice in the last five years, FOX13 reports. The first was for a lack of supervision on the patio and the second was for a hole in a fence that was large enough for a child to crawl through. They are now investigating if any violations occurred during Leonardo’s death.

CPR was attempted, but the toddler was pronounced dead upon arriving at an area hospital. The location of the funeral proceedings have yet to be announced, but it is said that the public will be able to pay respects.
