A 3-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital after falling off a roller coaster at a Pennsylvania theme park.

Chopper 11 over scene at Idlewild Park after child falls off roller coaster in Ligonier, Pennsylvania. His name hasn’t been released.

A medical helicopter was called to the park and flew the boy to a Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, said WPXI.

Croushore said rides are inspected daily.

A hospital spokesman declined to comment on the boy’s condition. The park also said the boy fell from the Rollo Coaster, a ride that opened in 1938 and requires riders to be at least 36 inches tall. “I don’t have the exact location on the ride (where he fell), but middle part of the ride, track”, Croushore said. There is no seat belt.

The same day Schwab was killed in what’s been deemed a “freak accident”, two other riders were injured at Cedar Point in OH, after a launch cable detached during a ride.

SO scary! The incident occurred at the Idlewild and SoakZone amusement park and marks the nation’s 4th amusement park accident in 5 days!

The Kansas City accident, which killed the son of a state legislator, remains under investigation with few details released. The NBC reports that the victim is three years old and was on the ride with his brother. “He was talking, he was alert with his family”, Croushore told reporters. There are almost 1,650 inspectors of the Department that monitor more than 10,200 rides in the state, and they are also responsible for auditing rides and local inspectors.

– Make sure children keep hands and feet inside the ride at all times.

It’s not the first such incident at the park.
