CHICAGO (AP) – Bond has been set at $2 million for the mother of a 4-year-old boy whose burned remains were found in the basement of a vacant house by Chicago Fire Department personnel. The sex of the baby was unclear, and investigators have not said how or when the child appeared to have died.

According to the fire department, firefighters smelled an accelerant in the gangway, which led them to the abandoned building.
