Colombia will take on U.S. in the play-off for third place.

The defending champion Chileans set up a rematch of last years final against Argentina at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., Sunday. Chile demolished Mexico 7-0 in stunning fashion in the quarter-finals, while Colombia needed penalties to see off Peru after a goalless draw.

This break could play into the hands of Colombia in their comeback hopes as another half hour to come up with the right tactics or motivation could be crucial in a match that looks finished with Chile up 2-0.

Former Chelsea midfielder Juan Cuadrado misdirected a header across his own goal straight to Charles Aranguiz and the Leverkusen midfielder had the straightforward task of sidefooting past David Ospina.

With Ospina beaten, the Universidad Catolica full back scored one of the easiest goals of his career by sidefooting into the empty net.

Pizzi is unable to call upon midfield dynamo Arturo Vidal, and Chile will miss his drive and big-game experience.

Colombia came back into the game, with James Rodriguez coming close with two shots and creating chances for Roger Martinez and Edwin Carmona.

Chile saw out the rest of the game with no real problems, setting up a Copa final against the team they beat in last year’s decider – Argentina.
