Chile win 2-0 to secure Copa final against Argentina
No. 5-ranked Chile on Sunday, June 26, CONCACAF and Copa America Local Organizing Committee (LOC) officials announced today that this year’s tournament will set new records for total and average attendance, television viewership in the United States and throughout the world, and digital and social media engagement.

The Copa America Centenario 2016 has reached its climax.
Undoubtedly, Chile has grown into this tournament and will face Argentina fully buoyant that it can impose yet more suffering.
United States’ Kyle Beckerman, center, kicks the ball as goalie Tim Howard, left, and Matt Besler, right, look on during practice at the Copa America Centenario soccer tournament Thursday, June 23, 2016, in Glendale, Ariz.
Argentina and Chile started out in the same group, in fact, they faced each other in their first match – Argentina won 2-1. Led by the awe-inspiring Lionel Messi, who has five goals and five assists in a short span, Argentina will be out to avenge their last year-s defeat.
Those two are the most recognizable names on Chile’s team, but they aren’t the only two impact players who have the ability to beat Argentina.
But Pizzi is not concerned with the quality Argentina possess, insisting his team’s strengths are enough to win the final on their own merit.
A victory in the Copa America final for Lionel Messi would mean lifting his first trophy for his national team.
New year, new Copa, new continent – same final two in Argentina and Chile. It was yet another magical moment in the career of one of the best to ever play the sport.
The U.S. struggled to possess the ball, and even with the substitutions of 17-year-old Christian Pulisic for a floundering Wondolowski and Darlington Nagbe for Clint Dempsey, the U.S. had few real chances to get on the board.
“We are happy and do not care that it is Chile as the rival”, Romero said.

He trails Eduardo Vargas, whose four-goal haul in the 7-0 drubbing of Mexico helped him to six for the tournament. The two drove from Lexington, Ky., and didn’t know whether they were going to stay the night or go home after the game when they walked around the fan zone before the game, but they did know they weren’t going to miss an opportunity to watch Colombia play. “But we had a talk already with the players and the staff to regroup now and to give it a go in Phoenix”, the German said in a Q&A session on his official Facebook page.
