China , Albania to enhance infrastructure cooperation

About a thousand businessmen will meet at the forum from China, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia. The projects will focus on “production capacity cooperation among the ports and industrial parks of the coastal areas of the Adriatic Sea, the Baltic Sea and the Black Sea”, Li said, adding that China expects “our companies to be the main players in these projects”. China will be in charge of financing and constructing the project.

He also said China was exploring the possibility of establishing a multilateral financial institution with Central and Eastern European countries, as well as a joint fund that would be denominated in Chinese yuan.

Many of the CEE states are hoping to use Chinese investment to boost their own economies.

The Bulgarian prime minister noted that the two countries are willing to enhance cooperation in the construction of railways and highways as well as in nuclear energy.
