The two sides had an in-depth, honest and productive exchange of views on China-Canada relations, and regional, international, and global issues of shared interest.

“As of this summer, you can fly to Canada from 11 cities here in China, so therefore that’s why need to have more visa application centres”.

But now, Marvel has made him into a real superhero, in a comic book that hit newsstands Wednesday.

At the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Wednesday, Trudeau said he had “highlighted” Garratt’s case in meetings with Chinese leaders but stressed that the goal of the visit was to establish a “strong, stable relationship and ongoing dialogue” with China. Trudeau expected the trip, his first to China since taking office in November 2015, would lay the groundwork for a “closer, more balanced” relationship between the two countries.

Investment cooperation is obviously on Trudeau’s mind, as the Canadian government is “looking very favorably” at the possibility of joining the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), Trudeau said.

“We’re happy to reassure Canadian farmers that (at) the September 1 deadline we will be able to continue with the current regime of canola and we (will) work together very closely towards a long-term solution in the coming days and weeks ahead”, Trudeau said.

Trudeau, his wife Sophie Gregoire and their daughter, Ella-Grace, began their day by exploring a section of the Great Wall of China.

He said Chinese tourist travel to Canada went up 24 per cent in the first six months of this year, helping make China the third source of visitors after the US and the United Kingdom. One of the most popular images since his reign as Prime Minister began was that of him, President Barack Obama, and Mexico’s Enrique Pena Nieto walking in stride together when they met up in Canada’s capital of Ottawa, Ontario, after which time they were dubbed the “Three Amigos” with people everywhere gushing over their attractiveness.

The portion of the Wall they walked was temporarily closed to the public – providing them with a peaceful section to stroll, away from the usual hordes of visitors.
