China hopes for full implementation of United Nations resolution on DPRK — China Focus
The resolution bans exports of coal, iron and iron ore and other minerals to North Korea and tightens an arms embargo by banning sales of small arms.

South Korea’s defense ministry said Thursday that it was investigating to see whether the projectiles were artillery rockets or short-range ballistic missiles.
Previous year officials in the reclusive state also made outlandish claims that they had successfully tested a hydrogen bomb.
Two separate United Nations resolutions were also approved in 2006 and 2013 when the country tested a prohibited missile technology by launching long-range rockets.
The U.N sanctions were welcomed with joy in Seoul. It becomes law when it is endorsed by the Cabinet Council, considered a formality.
The bill would establish a centre in South Korea’s unification ministry tasked with collecting, archiving and publishing information about human rights in North Korea.
“China warned North Korea to give up nuclear weapons several times but the country refused to listen”, he added, stressing “This is why China supported the resolution of strong sanctions against North Korea adopted by the U.N. Security Council”.
The North Korean state news agency blasted the sanctions as “unprecedented and gangster-like”.
There hasn’t been any official comment from the country yet in respond to the severe sanctions impose against it.

The sanctions resolution did not target oil deliveries to North Korea and allows for exemptions to some export bans if a government can show that the revenue will not be used to develop North Korea s military programs.

“That’s their way of reacting to what we have decided”, said Japan’s U.N. Ambassador Motohide Yoshikawa.
Ri went on to say that the U.S. and other countries were making an issue of North Korea’s human rights record because they had “no other choice in the face of [North Korea’s] powerful nuclear deterrent and military force”.
The United Nations Wednesday approved the toughest sanctions on North Korea till date.
The list on luxury goods include luxury watches, aquatic recreational vehicles, snowmobiles worth more than $2,000, lead crystal items and recreational sports equipment.
But transporting money on trucks is also not easy, as Chinese customs checks have stepped up inspections of cargo going into North Korea.

The US Treasury added Hwang to its list along with 16 individuals who are now subject to a travel ban and asset freeze. A United Nations panel of experts monitoring the sanctions has repeatedly pointed out that enforcement in a significant number of cases has been weak.
