China says it supports ‘necessary’ United Nations response to North Korea test

The Foreign Ministry official told South Korean reporters in Tokyo on Sunday that a UN Security Council draft resolution is probably circulating among its members and China is probably reviewing it carefully.
North Korea said Saturday it was willing to end its widely condemned nuclear test program – if the United States and South Korea put a stop to their joint military exercises.
Ministry spokesman Jeong Joon-hee said in a briefing Friday, “It appears that Choe Ryong-hae’s activities have resumed because North Korea realized he is needed”.

Blinken chastised North Korea for the “flaunting of its worldwide obligations”.
