Li Keqiang underlined the interdependence of the US and Chinese economies.
U.S. President Barack Obama and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang agreed Monday to “invigorate” cooperation in the U.N. Security Council and law enforcement channels on North Korea for the sake of a nuclear-free Korean Peninsula, the White House said.
China’s growth target for this year is 6.5-7 percent.
During his four-day stay in the city, Li is expected to offer China’s viewpoints on major issues regarding the worldwide order, global governance and peace and development.

Obama also urged China to establish a level playing field for all firms to compete fairly in China.
China and the United States have made progress toward concluding the negotiations for a treaty with the objective of creating fair, transparent and liberalized investment regimes.
In recent months, China has been criticized of not doing enough to address overproduction, particularly in the steel industry.
Li Guanghui, vice-president of the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation in Beijing, said both sides should intensify negotiations and speed up work to conclude a mutually beneficial treaty with high standards.
China is also ready to increase communication and coordination with New Zealand in multilateral affairs and promote a healthy and stable development of relations between the two countries, the premier said.
Liu Jieyi, China’s permanent representative to the United Nations, said Li would offer measures to help promote peace and development throughout the worldwide community.
