China: Swimmer Chen Xinyi tests positive at Rio Olympics
The Chinese Swimming Association confirmed in the early hours of Friday morning that 18-year-old Chen tested positive on August 7 for hydrochlorothiazide, a substance that promotes the production of urine, thereby making detection of other banned substances more hard.

Chen has requested a hearing from the International Olympic Committee, and has asked for her B sample to be tested.
Chen had been scheduled to compete in the 50m freestyle beginning later today.
Sun, who won silver to Horton’s gold, tested positive for a banned stimulant in 2014 and served a three-month suspension in secret.
Russian Federation has seen nearly all its track and field team barred from this year’s Games over a doping scandal. A Chinese swimmer has tested positive for banned substances at the Rio Olympics, becoming the first competitor in the sport to fail a test at the games.
Some postings on the popular Sina Weibo microblogging site say they will wait for more details on the case before commenting, while others are directing their anger towards Australian swimmer Mr Horton.
Doping allegations have plagued this year’s swimming competitions after Australian Mack Horton called his rival and fellow Olympic swimming gold medalist Sun Yang a “drug cheat”, and USA gold medalist Lily King criticized Russia’s twice-banned swimmer Yulia Efimova.
Sun went on to win the 200m freestyle, the only gold medal for swimming so far on China’s medal tally.
Chinese swimmer Chen Xinyi is protesting her innocence after testing positive for hydrochlorothiazide, a diuretic often used as a masking agent for performance-enhancing drugs.
“This situation, I don’t know the details”, Wang said. FINA, the global governing body of swimming, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Media reports named the official as sprint coach John Anzrah, saying he had attempted to impersonate an athlete during a doping test.

“This reported test should be generated by the organizer. We found out that my fourth test was positive”, she said.
