Speaking to the Japanese Parliament Monday, Abe said the launch was a clear violation of UN Security Council resolutions.
Haley added that “all options are on the table” concerning North Korea, but said the country must engage in positive action before the USA would take it seriously.
But he said the USA needed to look for new strategies on North Korea.
Beijing also said the US and South Korea should end the joint military drills that anger Pyongyang and seek talks instead. The two leaders also vowed to strengthen cooperation and coordination in handling the North Korea issue and to hold phone talks when necessary.
“This is a direct challenge to the worldwide community and a grave violation”, he said.
Meanwhile, in South Korea, left-wing presidential candidate Moon Jae-in – who expressed support for a North-South confederation in 2011 – has been polling well.
‘He said he wanted us to trust him and the United States 100 per cent, ‘ Abe added.
Moon Sang-gyun, a spokesman for the South Korean defence ministry, said: “The joint exercises will continue without a halt”.
The US Pacific Command said Monday that the Americans had begun deploying the THAAD anti-system to South Korea, which is created to defend the US ally from a North Korean attack. -South Korean drills that began last week.
The exercises usually draw condemnation and retribution from Pyongyang.
The alternative to China’s proposal “would be escalation of tension, and the situation may get out of control”, he told The Associated Press and other reporters.
Toner’s remarks are a rare and frank public admission from the USA government that the approach taken toward North Korea in recent years – which became known as “strategic patience” – hasn’t worked and isn’t likely to now.
It will also feature a vertical launch system, which can fire multiple cruise missiles and torpedoes. Pyongyang has fired dozens of missiles and conducted two of its five nuclear tests in the past year in defiance of United Nations resolutions.
President Donald Trump’s administration is reviewing all possible options in North Korea, even those that aren’t likely to be adopted.
The items were fired from North Pyongan province “around 7:36 a.m”.
