Chinese boy killed in escalator accident
A child was killed in a freak accident involving an escalator at a light rail station in Southwest China’s Chongqing municipality on October 8, 2015. Although they managed to pry the boy from the escalator, he later passed away in the hospital.

Previous year mother of two Naima Rharouity died when she fell while travelling on an escalator in Montreal.
The latest incident took place on Thursday morning at Chongqing’s Hongqiaohegou subway station. When the mother temporarily left them by the escalator, her son started to run around. The boy was playing with an escalator handrail when he fell under it. His chest was wedged between the bottom of the handrail and the ground. The girl tripped and fell while on the escalator with her grandmother.
Train station horror… A young boy died after being crushed by an escalator in China. He succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
The local authorities are investigating the cause of the incident.
“We are deeply regretful and heartbroken over this case!”
Officials in the southwestern metropolis of Chongqing conducted a safety check in August of all escalators made by Suzhou-based Shenlong Elevator Company, which made the one that claimed the life of a woman, Xiang Liujuan, at a shopping centre in Jingzhou, Hubei province in July 26.

All these accidents involving escalators and lifts raised safety concerns across the country. “This time it is just the adults’ fault”, said _Nanianshengxia.
