Chinese Muslims celebrate Eid al-Adha
The sacred festival, which is also known as Bakr Eid or Bakrid, falls on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the 12th month of the Islamic calendar and represents the end of Hajj.

The festival is all about sacrificing animals – mostly ram, goats, camel, sheep – which are divided into three parts later.
The family retains one third of the share; another third is given to relatives, friends and neighbors; and the remaining third is given to the poor and needy.
There is a move among Canadian Muslims to have this, and the feast of Eid al Fitr, which follows the holy month of Ramadan, declared official holidays.

Eid al-Adha, Arabic for the Feast of Sacrifice, is the second Eid holiday, or solemn festival, celebrated in the Muslim faith. Eid al-Adha is called Hajj Celebration day in some countries like Malaysia and Indonesia. Because the festival depends on the sighting of the new moon, some countries may celebrate on Tuesday.
British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has also wished “Eid Mubarak” to all Muslims. Wishing you joy and prosperity on Eid. “Therefore, no one has the right to claim that he enlisted the God’s support to sacrifice other people’s lives”, Gaynutdin stressed. “They, by no means, represent me, or us”.
