Chip Kelly: All our backs fit into what we’re doing

The Eagles (1-2) shut Murray and his ailing hamstring down after he warmed up. “I think he will [be all right with a] couple more days’ rest”, Bowles said.

This week’s matchup was flawless for the Jets, Bradford at the helm, Murray ruled out of the game, there was no way we could lose.

Brandon Marshall recorded his second consecutive 100-yard game as a Jet and passed a career milestone for 10,000 receiving yards on Sunday, but the confetti will have to wait.

“I saw a whole bunch of green grass”, Sproles said. “I’ll wait until Wednesday to see how he’s coming along”.

Bradford’s 23-yard touchdown pass to running back Ryan Mathews lengthened the lead to 17-0 before Sproles capped the second quarter outburst by the Eagles by rushing one yard for a touchdown. It was only the 10th touchdown of fewer than five yards for Sproles, who is listed at 5-foot-6. “We don’t care who does it or who contributes to it, as long as you come out with the victory”. “He’s got a knack for finding his way through”.

Nick Folk kicked a 53-yard field goal with 2:34 remaining, but Seyi Ajirotutu recovered the onside kick and the Eagles ran out the clock. Like Bart Scott said, “they couldn’t stop a nose bleed”.

Kelly did look like the genius many made him out to be. The Jets thus cut the lead to 24-7 with six seconds left in the half. Every week’s going to be kind of a street fight, and you’ve got to be prepared. “We’re doing well, we have good chemistry going and everything else and Geno understands that”. Give them our best shot. I don’t think there was anything major.

On Monday, Marshall said he had trouble sleeping as he replayed the fumble over and over in his mind. They got turnovers, we didn’t. For the first time all season, the Eagles were able to get out in front early. The Jets (2-1) were trying to go 3-0 for the fifth time in franchise history. Then, New York has a bye, so the focus is on bouncing back – even if it’s overseas.

Marshall said he actually pulled off a lateral three other times in his career, but won’t ever try it again.

Obviously they learned that “Tempo” doesn’t block defenders.

Fitzpatrick was 35 of 58 for 283 yards and the three INTs, but Bowles declared that he’s the Jets starter as the team heads to London to play the Dolphins next Sunday.

With the Jets trailing 17-0 in the second quarter, Marshall caught a pass from Fitzpatrick. Rookie Eric Rowe and Jordan Hicks and new-comer Walter Thurmond III all had interceptions.

NOTES: With the win, the Eagles improved to 10-0 all-time against the Jets. It may not sound that good on paper, but after a Dallas Cowboys loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, the Birds find themselves just a game back in the battered NFC East.

NOTES: In addition to RB DeMarco Murray, LB Kiko Alonso (left ACL) was inactive for the Eagles. Oddly enough, Ivory was active, but he didn’t play, essentially wasting a roster spot for the day. The Jets turned it over four times to the Eagles’ one, and the Jets lost the game.

Against the Colts, the Jets struggled a bit in the second half offensively, failing to put Indianapolis away.
