Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson is in his third season here, but somehow he failed to pick up on the importance of this last bit of local wisdom until Tuesday.

“My comment about the fans was out of line and I apologize”, Johnson wrote.

It’s not, we need to change how we set up our day or do anything like that. Moncrief’s targets should increase as we get later into the season. I just think that Chip Kelly, if given a choice, might be comfortable elsewhere. “There was a part in that game where we all kind of tuned it out in the fourth quarter, but the truth is there was a part in that game where when you’re watching that team and you’re saying they’re quitting”.
The Eagles’ downturn comes after an offseason in which the team gave Kelly far more power on personnel decisions, most of which have backfired. I think we did some good things the first two years. We need to EARN that home field advantage and I know that.

Imagine where we could be by this time next month. They heard plenty of boos on Sunday, many fans left early, and some are calling for Kelly to be fired.
Kelly’s Eagles sit at 4-6 after losing two straight and three of their last four games.

To be fair, much of this had to do with a putrid defensive effort from the Eagles, but the stats still count and Winston took full advantage of the opportunities provided to him by Philadelphia.
