“The poll, taken last week, revealed that Kaepernick was “disliked a lot” by 29 percent of those polled, more than any of the more than 350 players asked about in the survey”.

“When you look at what’s gone on in Tulsa and Charlotte the last two nights, it’s an issue that’s at the forefront of our country, and it needs to be addressed, needs to be taken care of”. Because whats going on is not right. So I think, again, [Kaepernick’s] shedding light on a situation that is heinous.

Kelly has consistently supported Kaepernick’s decision to sit or stand through the national anthem to protest police brutality and unfair treatment of minorities, and doesn’t expect his players to divorce themselves from current events.

Titled “The Perilous Fight”, the article (firewalled for subscribers only) promises to discuss how the “National anthem protests led by Kaepernick are fueling a debate about privilege, pride, and patriotism”. Theyre being violated and thats what I think Colin is standing up for.”. Kaepernick has also pledged to donate $1 million to organizations supporting his cause of racial equality.

The 28-year-old University of Nevada alum, drafted by the 49ers in 2011, claimed earlier this week that he recently received death threats: “I’ve had a few come my way, but not too concerned about it”. Hes done everything, ” Kelly said. He understands what his job is. “He’s focused, he’s dialed in when we’re at practice, he’s dialed in when we’re in meetings”.
