Chip Kelly says Eagles’ problems are execution, not play-calling

The severity of the injury isn’t known, but the fact that the Eagles sent Murray for an MRI exam isn’t a good sign.

Bowles, who spent part of the previous season as the Eagles defensive coordinator, already made up his mind.

No player in the past 55 years has had a worse rushing start to the season than Philadelphia Eagles back DeMarco Murray. Murray’s replacement is Ryan Mathews, who has undeniable talent but has battled injuries during his entire career. The sky has not been confirmed to be falling, so Philly supporters should take a deep breath before launching into full-on apocalyptic despair. The Eagles have no first downs this season on third downs with four or more yards to go to gain a first down.

Huff said that he heard Dallas Cowboys players calling out the Philadelphia Eagles’ plays before the ball was snapped during Sunday’s game. One reporter tried though, asking Kelly how the Eagles could improve their running game.

Murray’s performance has been especially disappointing. The Eagles lug an unexpected 0-2 record into Sunday’s game against the New York Jets (2-0). Dissatisfaction is high and patience seems to be wearing thin. “I mean I’m pretty sure he’s going to be back (Thursday)”.

Kelly said practicing elsewhere the two days leading into their 1 p.m. game against the Jets doesn’t change anything preparation wise.

That underrated quarterback, Sam Bradford, has looked nothing short of a total disaster thus far.

And if they can’t, then it may be another three and a half hours of hard viewing for Eagles fans and another week of scrutiny for Kelly.

So, if the Philadelphia Eagles are to turn a corner and succeed, what do they need to do differently?

Rewatch the loss to the Cowboys and you’ll see plenty of examples of Dallas defensive linemen shooting through gaps that you wouldn’t ordinarily expect them to target. “I think Nick Foles understood the offense, so they were able to move at a faster pace”. “I know two of them are tipped (passes) that went through our hands”. “But I thought Sam was pretty accurate in the Falcons game”.

The easiest response to these seemingly cataclysmic events of the first two weekends of pro football is to blame the head coach/GM/tyrant Chip Kelly.
